Project title Mobilization, transport, and straining of soil colloidal particles as influences by soil architecture
Description Colloidal soil particles and microorganisms (bio-colloids) can be mobilized and carry chemicals. Colloid-facilitated transport of phosphorus, heavy metals, and toxic organics is typically ignored in leaching and risk assessment models. On the positive side, optimized colloid-carried transport and application of bio-colloids may assist in soil remediation at polluted sites. The dynamics in the release and transport of soil colloids need to be quantified and made part of decision platforms for cultivated and urban soils.
